Third Street Chai, a maker of fair trade and organic chai, is going to combine its operations with Pixie Mate, which makes natural and organic tea-like drinks called mate. Third Street’s founder John Simmons had become good friends with T.J. McIntyre, of Pixie Mate, and through the years, they found themselves talking shop, strategies and trends. It was a combination that made sense, operationally, for customers and for future, sustained growth, Simmons said.
