Longmont…. Fiona’s Natural Foods, producer of Fiona’s Granola, has announced region-wide expansion of its granola energy bars and gluten-free quinoa energy bars. A recent packaging facelift has allowed the energy bars to go into distribution through United Natural Foods, Inc., based in Aurora, CO. The bars are now sold in all the Whole Foods and most of the former Wild Oats in the Rocky Mountain region, which includes 29 stores in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Kansas.
“We are just thrilled,” said Fiona Simon, founder and CEO. “We’ve been wanting to repackage our bars for a long time now. The Louisville facility was too small to house the equipment necessary to wrap the bars. Our new Longmont facility, which we moved into last June, has provided the space needed for this kind of production.” According to Simon, the bars hit the stores running. “Bar sales literally doubled in the first month since gaining distribution,” she said. “The new packaging was definitely the key. The wrappers finally do justice to the wonderful bars inside.”
Brenda Steele, who reps the Fiona’s line, noted, “The new packaging, which includes newly designed cases, has immediately put Fiona’s in the same ballpark as the larger energy bar manufacturers. People are ready for real food. That’s what these bars offer.”
The four varieties available through distribution are Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter, Cranberry Orange, Almond Chocolate Chip, and Lemon Cranberry. All are wheat free, and the latter two are gluten free. Fiona’s also produces six varieties of granola, two varieties of European Muesli, and two varieties of gluten-free Quinoa Crunch cereal.
In addition to the new energy bar packaging, the company has also created a new product, Trail Mix. “We’ll be introducing the Trail Mix at the Boulder Farmers Market this year,” Simon said.
Fiona’s products can be found throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. Further distribution includes stores in California, Kansas, Louisiana, and Wyoming. Fiona’s granola and energy bars can also be found in restaurants, B&B’s, athletic clubs, coffee shops, and via gift basket companies. The entire product line can be ordered via the company’s website, www.fionasgranola.com.
Fiona’s products are wheat free, dairy free, vegan, and sweetened with organic agave nectar.
